Black Wax Records was located on Lozells Road in Birmingham and was a popular reggae store throughout the 1970s. Owned by Keith Thornton, Black Wax was both a record label and a record shop, as well as a distributor for its own and for several other labels, such as K&B and Locks. The Black Wax label issued around twenty singles in 1975 and 1976, with several of the early issues being pressed by Lyntone.
