Global Records was established by Ed Balbier, a Philadelphia native who saw a window of opportunity in selling deleted albums and 45s from the US to British audiences. Much of the business focused on distribution, but members of the public could buy records by browsing through a special list or a small range of new arrivals staff members would bring out.
