Ram Jam Record Shack

The Ram Jam Record Shack started in 1976 as a stall at the Sunday morning market in Blackbird Leys, Oxford, run by David Rodigan. Rodigan was able to obtain records from Lee’s Sound City in Deptford, and soon opened a second stall at Putney Market, while also selling records at Gloucester Green bus station. The Ram Jam Record Shack eventually transitioned into a popular reggae shop under the arches near Peckham Rye train station, set up by Rodigan and Lee Lange, who also ran Lee’s Sound City.
